reetown, Sierra Leone – July 11, 2026 – The Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority has announced temporary security and traffic arrangements at Freetown International Airport, Lungi, from July 17 to 19, 2026, as the country hosts the ECOWAS Summit.

According to a public notice issued by the Authority’s management on July 11, commercial flights will continue to operate as scheduled. All cargo received on July 17, 18, and 19 will be stored at the cargo terminal and made available for collection from July 20, the notice added.

Passengers are encouraged to allow additional travel time and comply with all security and traffic management measures. The Authority stated that these temporary arrangements are intended to support the safe, secure, and efficient movement of delegates, passengers, and airport users throughout the summit.

Normal access arrangements will resume at the conclusion of the summit, according to the Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority.
