SLBA President Tuma Adama Jabbi Declares Bid for Re-Election, Vows to Consolidate Gains
The President of the Sierra Leone Bar Association (SLBA), Tuma Adama Jabbi, has formally declared her intention to seek re-election, outlining a continued agenda under the theme “Raising the Bar. Securing the Gains.”
In her declaration to members of the Bar, Jabbi said her re-election bid is grounded in the need to consolidate reforms and sustain progress achieved during her tenure.
She stated that her administration has focused on strengthening professional standards, improving welfare, and empowering members of the legal profession.
According to her, key achievements include the launch of a private pension scheme through NASSIT, the facilitation of international scholarships and professional development opportunities, and efforts to enhance the financial stability of the Association.
She also highlighted progress in securing land for a permanent SLBA Secretariat, strengthening institutional collaboration with key national bodies, and advancing the rule of law.
Jabbi further noted that efforts were made to improve unity within the Bar and enhance the Association’s visibility both regionally and internationally through engagement and professional networking.
While acknowledging these achievements, she stressed that more work remains, particularly in expanding opportunities for members and strengthening institutional structures.
She said the next phase of leadership should focus on consolidation, continuity, and transformation, adding that the Bar must continue building on existing gains.
“This is not the time to slow down, but to build on progress, move higher, and move together,” she said, appealing for renewed trust and support from members.
Jabbi concluded by formally seeking re-election as President of the Sierra Leone Bar Association.
