Freetown, 14th October 2025 — TRUTH MEDIA has formally reported to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) after disturbing threats were made against one of its journalists, Amadu Lamrana Bah, by social media personality Admire Bio and a man believed to be her husband, Dauda Jalloh.
In a video broadcast live on Facebook, Jalloh was allegedly heard making violent remarks in the background, including a threat to “beat” Bah upon his return to town. The incident has sparked widespread public concern about the safety of journalists and the growing hostility toward media professionals in the country.
According to a statement issued by TRUTH MEDIA, the institution views the threats as a serious security concern and “a grave attack on press freedom.” The management said it has a duty to protect its staff and uphold the constitutional right to freedom of expression as guaranteed under Section 25 of the 1991 Constitution.
“We have since reported the matter to the CID for investigation,” the statement read, “and we call on the relevant authorities to take all necessary steps to ensure the safety of our journalist, his family, and all media professionals who continue to serve the public in good faith.”
The organization further appealed to the public to avoid intimidation or harassment of journalists, noting that such actions undermine democracy and discourage free expression.
The principal body of journalists in the country, Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) has also condemned the attack on Mr. Bah, describing it as both disrespectful and dangerous on press freedom and freedom of expression.
Meanwhile, colleagues, friends, and members of the public have flooded social media with messages of support for Bah, praising his professionalism and courage.
TRUTH MEDIA expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming public solidarity, saying it remains committed to responsible journalism, factual reporting, and defending the rights and dignity of all citizens.
