FREETOWN – The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has announced a vacancy for the position of Head Coach of the men’s national team, Leone Stars, shortly after the dismissal of former coach Mohamed Kallon.
According to a statement released on Wednesday, 22 April 2026, the SLFA is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to take charge of the team’s technical direction and performance in all international matches and engagements.
The vacancy comes as the football association moves to fill the role left empty following Kallon’s departure.
Key responsibilities for the new head coach include team selection, match preparation, tactical leadership, and the organisation of training camps in close collaboration with the SLFA Technical Department.
Applicants must hold a CAF A License, UEFA Pro License, or an equivalent FIFA-recognised coaching qualification. The SLFA requires a minimum of five to ten years of experience at senior level, preferably with a national team or top-tier club.
Interested candidates should submit a curriculum vitae, copies of relevant coaching qualifications, and at least two professional references to the SLFA General Secretary in Freetown or via the official email addresses provided.
The deadline for applications is 12 May 2026. The SLFA said only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
