FREETOWN, 20 January 2026 – The High Court of Sierra Leone, presided over by Honourable Justice A.T. Ganda, has formally endorsed a settlement between the State and Abu Kamara, resulting in the forfeiture of three high-value properties to the State.

Under the Anti-Corruption Commission’s (ACC) Non-Conviction Asset Recovery model, Abu Kamara has surrendered:

  • A fully furnished four-storey building at No. 8 Cemetery Road, Ogoo Farm;
  • A two-storey building off Peninsular Road, Black Johnson;
  • An incomplete two-storey building at Galun Road, Bo City.

The Court granted the ACC sole authority to sell or dispose of the properties by private treaty, ensuring the recovered assets generate public value.

The ACC said the outcome highlights its results-driven approach to corruption, ensuring that illicitly-acquired wealth is returned to the State while holding perpetrators accountable.

The Commission assured the public of its commitment to protecting State resources and recovering misappropriated funds.
