APC RAISES ALARM OVER “UNILATERAL” TSCS ACTIONS, DEMAND APOLOGY, INVESTIGATION AND REMOVAL OF STAFF MEMBER

The All Peoples’ Congress (APC) has issued a strongly worded public notice condemning what it describes as “troubling, unacceptable, and unilateral actions” by the Tripartite Steering Committee Secretariat (TSCS), raising serious concerns about transparency, national inclusiveness, and the integrity of the ongoing public consultation process under Recommendation 78.

According to the APC, the TSCS on Thursday released a “Schedule for District Public Education and Civic Engagement Sessions” without providing specific venues, timelines, or logistical details—an omission the party says violates the clear procedural standards set out under Recommendation 78 of the Tripartite Committee Report.

The opposition party further alleges that the schedule was released without the knowledge or consent of its Chief Negotiator in the Agreement for National Unity (ANU), Dr. Kaifala Marah, and without any notification to its National Secretariat. The APC says this act undermines the spirit of consensus the Tripartite Committee was built on.

Adding to the tension, the APC accuses a TSCS staff member, Alimamy Lahai Kamara, of making unsolicited calls—mainly in APC strongholds—inquiring about “political infiltrators” and allegedly issuing directives limiting participation in the Falaba District session slated for Saturday, 15 November 2025. According to the APC, Mr. Kamara reportedly ordered that if such “infiltrators” are found, only ten participants should be allowed into the session, and fifteen if none are identified.

The APC describes the conduct as “unprofessional, inflammatory, and deliberately provocative,” insisting that Recommendation 78 mandates open and unrestricted participation for all Sierra Leoneans, not partisan screening or controlled attendance.

The party reaffirmed that Recommendation 78 is a national democratic consultation and “not a political battlefield between APC and SLPP.” It called on citizens across the country to attend the sessions “boldly and lawfully.”

With tensions rising around the implementation of Recommendation 78, the APC issued a set of urgent demands:

1. Public Assurance of Mandate Integrity

The TSCS must confirm that it is not being used as a partisan tool or state machinery by the ruling SLPP.

2. Independent Investigation

An immediate, credible investigation into the alleged conduct of staff member Alimamy Lahai Kamara.

3. Public Apology

A formal apology to the APC and the nation for what the party terms “unprofessional and politically provocative” actions.

4. Removal or Resignation of Staff Member

The party is demanding the immediate removal or resignation of Mr. Kamara to restore confidence in the TSCS.

5. Full Transparency

A complete and verifiable schedule that includes locations, dates, times, objectives, modalities, and participation criteria for all sessions under Recommendation 78.

The APC concluded that any attempt to turn Recommendation 78 into “a secretive, selective political charade disguised as public consultation” is unacceptable and must cease immediately.
