FREETOWN – The Anti-Corruption Commission has announced a new online asset declaration portal and shifted the filing deadline to July 20, 2026, giving public officers extra time to comply with their legal obligations.

According to a public notice dated April 20, the usual declaration period of January 1 to March 31 was adjusted to allow for the development and rollout of the new platform, which was created in collaboration with the Directorate of Science, Technology and Innovation.

The commission further stated that the declaration window will now run from April 20 to July 20, 2026. Public officers required to declare include elected officials, presidential appointees, those in Grade 7 and above, and officers below Grade 7 with fiduciary responsibilities. Principals, vice principals, head teachers, deputy head teachers and bursars in government and government-assisted schools must also file.

Newly appointed or elected public officers, including paramount chiefs and court chairmen, as well as outgoing officers, are also required to comply. Those who declared in 2026 for the 2024 declaration year must declare again for the 2026 declaration year within the current window.

All declarations must be submitted online through the commission’s official platforms. Ministries, departments and agencies have been advised to help new registrants obtain official email addresses to access the portal. Existing users may keep their current login credentials.

The commission drew attention to Section 122A of the Anti-Corruption Act, noting that failure to submit a declaration or knowingly providing false or misleading information carries administrative sanctions and other penalties.
