Dr. Ibrahim Bangura, flagbearer aspirant for the presidential flag bearer position of the All Peoples Congress (APC) and leader of the DIB Movement, has expressed profound grief over the death of the party’s National Chairman, Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray.

In a condolence message released to the public, Dr. Bangura described the late chairman as a distinguished statesman, committed party stalwart, and loyal servant of the people of Sierra Leone. He noted that Mansaray’s passing leaves a deep void not only within the APC but also in the broader national landscape.

A Lifetime of Service to Party and Country

Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray devoted decades of his life to the APC, rising from his youthful days as president of the National Youth League to becoming one of the party’s most respected senior leaders. He served as Deputy Chairman before eventually taking on the role of National Chairman.

His political career also included notable stints in government. He served as a Member of Parliament and held ministerial portfolios as Minister of Labour and Employment and Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources. He was also a member of the APC National Advisory Council, where he brought wisdom and institutional memory to the party’s highest advisory structures.

“More Than a Leader”

In his tribute, Dr. Bangura described Mansaray as a source of counsel, stability, and unity within the APC.

“For many within our party, Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray was more than a leader; he was a source of counsel, stability, and institutional memory. His calm disposition, unwavering loyalty, and commitment to the unity and strength of the APC earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues across generations,” Dr. Bangura said.

Condolences to Family and Party

On behalf of the DIB Movement, his family, and himself, Dr. Bangura extended heartfelt condolences to Mansaray’s immediate family, loved ones, friends, the APC leadership and membership, and the people of Sierra Leone.

He urged the nation to draw inspiration from the late chairman’s commitment to duty, devotion to party and country, and belief in service above self.

Prayers for the Departed

Dr. Bangura concluded his message with prayers, asking Almighty Allah to forgive Mansaray’s shortcomings, reward his good deeds, grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus, and give comfort and strength to all who mourn his passing.

“May his soul rest in perfect peace,” he added.
