The Government of Sierra Leone has confirmed the arrival of 9 out of 24 expected U.S. ECOWAS deportees, stating that all “reception procedures were completed smoothly and without incident.”
According to an official update from the Ministry of Information and Civic Education, the group includes five Ghanaians, two Guineans, one Senegalese, and one Nigerian.
The Ministry confirmed that all individuals have been checked into their hosting facilities and are receiving the necessary support.
The government further noted that the deportees demonstrated full cooperation with the repatriation process to their respective countries.
The Ministry commended the Multi-Stakeholder Committee and all participating Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) for the strong coordination and professionalism displayed throughout the operation.
