SIERRA LEONE BECOMES BENEFICIARY OF $50 BILLION INITIATIVE AIMING AT ELECTRIFY 300 MILLION AFRICANS BY 2030.

Sierra Leone is set to benefit from a major global initiative aimed at electrifying 300 million Africans by 2030, with a $50 billion investment backing the effort. This project, which targets enhancing electricity access across Africa, is a critical step in addressing the continent’s severe energy deficit, especially in rural and underserved areas.

The project is funded by a collaboration between the world Bank group, with additional commitment from partners like the Asian infrastructure investment Bank (AIIB), Islamic Development (IsDB) and the OPEC Fund.

The $50 billion initiative brings together governments, international organizations, and private sector stakeholders to expand access to clean, affordable energy.

For Sierra Leone, this represents a transformative opportunity to improve the lives of millions who still lack reliable power sources.

The initiative will focus on renewable energy solutions such as solar power, mini grids, and other sustainable technologies suited to the country’s infrastructure needs.
