In a landmark show of unity, Presidents Joseph Boakai of Liberia and Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone broke ground today on a $364 million, 8-lane border highway linking Gendema to Liberia’s interior.

The 255-kilometre Western Corridor is expected to significantly reduce cross-border travel time.

“We are not just constructing roads; we are building a brighter future,” President Bio declared, while also thanking President Boakai for entrusting contractor Pavifort with the project.
