PPRC Lifts Suspension on APC After Payment of Le350,000 Fine
The Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) has officially lifted the suspension imposed on the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) following the party’s compliance with a Le350,000 fine.
According to a letter issued by the Commission and signed by Executive Secretary, Olushogo A. David, the decision follows a review of the circumstances surrounding the suspension which was earlier announced on 11th February 2026.
The Commission stated that upon confirmation of payment of the fines levied against the party, it was “pleased to notify” the APC that the suspension “is hereby lifted with immediate effect.”
The lifting of the suspension restores the APC to full operational status, allowing the party to resume all political activities.
According to the PPRC, these activities include meetings, internal elections, and other administrative and operational functions as provided for under the Political Parties Act No. 25 of 2022.
The Commission further urged the APC to continue to uphold the provisions of the law and maintain full compliance with all directives and obligations required of registered political parties.
Copies of the correspondence were also sent to the Chairman and Commissioners of the PPRC, as well as the National Chairman of the APC.
