The Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) has suspended the All People’s Congress (APC) from all political activities with immediate effect for failing to comply with fines imposed by the Commission.
According to an official letter dated 11th February 2026 and addressed to the APC National Secretary General, the Commission said the party was found in violation of Section 39(1) of the Political Parties Act (Act No. 25 of 2022).

The PPRC stated that following the violation, fines were imposed on the APC and formally communicated on 2nd February 2026, including details of the amount, basis, and payment deadline of 10th February 2026.
The Commission further noted that despite the expiration of the deadline and several reminders, the APC “failed, refused, or neglected” to settle the fines.
Consequently, the PPRC announced the immediate suspension of the party from carrying out any political activities, including meetings, rallies, elections, and administrative or operational functions.
The Commission emphasized that the suspension will remain in force until the APC fully settles the outstanding fines and receives written clearance restoring its operational status.
The PPRC urged the party to treat the matter with utmost seriousness and expedite payment to avoid further legal sanctions.
