President Bio Swears In Tribunal to Probe Justice Halloway

State House, Freetown — President Julius Maada Bio on Thursday swore in a Judicial Tribunal to investigate the conduct of High Court Judge Hon. Justice Allan Baami Halloway, urging members to act with fairness, impartiality, and respect for due process.

The President said the tribunal’s work was critical to maintaining integrity in Sierra Leone’s justice system.

“The task is weighty, but I am confident in your ability to conduct this investigation with fairness and respect for due process,” President Bio said.

The three-member tribunal is chaired by Justice Abdulai Masiyambay Bangura, JSC, with Francis Gabbidon, Esq. and Oladipo Robin-Mason as members. It was constituted under Section 137(5)(a) of the 1991 Constitution.

The probe follows President Bio’s directive of 15 September 2025, which led to Justice Halloway’s interdiction by the Judicial and Legal Service Commission pending investigation.

  1. Justice Bangura assured that the tribunal would conduct its work independently and objectively.
