PARLIAMENT ENACTS THE APPROPRIATION ACT OF 2026

The parliament of the Republic of Sierra Leone has, on Friday 19th December, 2025, after a rigorous and effective debate, passed into law, with some amendments, the bill entitled “The Appropriation Act of 2026 for the Services of Sierra Leone”, which is themed as enhancing domestic revenue mobilisation to sustain economic development for effective service delivery across the country.

The bill seeks to authorise expenditure from the consolidated fund for the services of Sierra Leone for the financial year 2026 and to provide for other related matters.

Through efficiency scrutiny at the committee stage in light of the committee of supplies before passing into law with some amendments

The budget passed by parliament is estimated at the total sum of NLe 27,717,307,300 (twenty-seven billion, seven hundred and seventeen million, three hundred and seven thousand, three hundred leones) only.
