Sierra Leonean Islamic singer, Alie Islam, has released his nasheed single titled My Shahadah, featuring Nigerian international Munsheed artiste, Kabir Vocal. The poem is currently streaming on all platforms, including apple music, spotify and audiomack.
The โShahadaโ, which translates as โtestimonyโ from Arabic, refers to Islamโs first article of faith, professing Godโs oneness and the prophethood of Muhammad, the last prophet according to Islam. The soul-searching poem invokes deep reflection, attributing everything to God and asserting that neglect of His worship could be disastrous.
The poem also calls for Godโs guidance towards good and away from โBandanaโ – the street life and gangsterism.
Excerpts from the lyrics read:
โAllah you are the giver, Allah you made the rivers, Allah youโre the owner, who made my own mother.โ
