Sierra Leone Security Forces Complete Joint Training with U.S. Army
Freetown, Sierra Leone – 25 September 2025
A group of Sierra Leonean military officers has completed a month-long training programme with the United States military, aimed at strengthening skills in leadership, civil engagement, and advanced medical care.
The Joint Combined Exercise Training (JCET), led by the U.S. Army Civil Affairs Team 126, brought together Sierra Leone’s Force Reconnaissance Unit and the State Protection Service for intensive drills in mission planning and field operations.
Participants were also trained in life-saving techniques, including trauma response and tactical medical care – skills seen as vital in both combat and civilian emergencies.
The U.S. Embassy congratulates the graduates and praised the collaboration, emphasizing that the training would enhance Sierra Leone’s ability to respond effectively to security challenges while strengthening civil-military relations.
The programme forms part of U.S. contributions towards supporting the country’s security sector through capacity building.
