Freetown, Sierra Leone, July 30, 2026 – The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) has announced that applications for Police Clearance Certificates will now be processed entirely online through the Government’s WanGov digital platform, marking another step in the country’s drive to digitize public services.
In a public notice issued on Thursday, the SLP said members of the public can now apply for Police Clearance Certificates from any location with internet access by visiting www.wan.gov.sl. The new system enables applicants to complete and submit their applications online, eliminating the need to travel to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters.
The police said the initiative forms part of the Government of Sierra Leone’s ongoing commitment to improving efficiency, accessibility, transparency, and convenience in the delivery of public services through digital technology.
To ensure that no applicant is left behind, the SLP said individuals without internet access or those requiring assistance with the online application process can receive support at designated centres, including the Central Police Station, CID Headquarters, and the WanGov Service Booth at the General Post Office on Siaka Stevens Street in Freetown.
The Sierra Leone Police encouraged the public to make use of the WanGov platform, stating that the digital application process is designed to provide a faster, more secure, and more convenient way of obtaining Police Clearance Certificates.
