FREETOWN, SIERRA LEONE – 29 APRIL 2026

The All People’s Congress (APC) has officially announced the immediate return of its elected Members of Parliament and local council representatives to all legislative and governance bodies, effective from the next sitting of Parliament.

The decision follows a communiqué issued by the International Moral Guarantors after their joint assessment mission in Sierra Leone. The APC states the move is made in good faith and in honour of the agreed roadmap, which calls for an end to the opposition boycott and full re‑engagement in governance processes.

As a condition for sustaining this cooperation, the APC has called on the Government of Sierra Leone to urgently lay the Agreement for National Unity and the Tripartite Committee Report before Parliament, and to facilitate the immediate establishment of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Electoral Matters to guide electoral reforms ahead of the 2028 elections.

The party stressed that these actions are not optional but part of a structured process to restore trust and strengthen democratic institutions.
