The President, His Excellency Julius Maada Bio has announced major new appointments in Sierra Leone’s water and energy sectors, aimed at strengthening governance and service delivery.
The appointments include:
- Ing. Mariwan Kallon as Managing Director of Guma Valley Water Company
- Mr. Festus Kallay as Director General of the Sierra Leone Electricity and Water Regulatory Commission (SLEWRC)
- Ing. Tideni Hawa Jabbi as Managing Director of the Sierra Leone Water Company
- Ing. Pierre Palmer as Director General of the National Water Resources Management Agency
Based on constitutional principles, these appointments are subject to Parliamentary approval, where applicable.
The move underscores the government’s focus on improving water supply, electricity regulation, and resource management, key areas for national development and public service delivery.
“These appointments reflect the government’s commitment to strengthening leadership in critical infrastructure sectors,” the statement said.
The new appointees are expected to drive reforms and enhance efficiency in water provision, electricity regulation, and water resource management across the country.
