Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Health has formally launched an online portal for the recruitment of 3,000 health workers of all cadres across within the sector, including doctors, lab technicians, nurses, dentists and others.
The application will be opened from the 8th to 29th September, 2025, to accept new intakes to fill the void the country’s health sector.
According to MoH, this new innovative approach aims at strengthening the health workforce as well as to ensure transparency, fairness and accountability throughout the recruitment process.
The Ministry further noted that it has conducted a test run on the portal to carefully assess its effectiveness and efficiency prior to the launch. This said assessment aimed at ensuring that the portal will not pose any challenges during the application process.
In addition, the Ministry emphasized that the application is completely free and for every expert within the health sector.
The Ministry has also encouraged people who initially sent applications during the during the test run reapply.
