The Lawyers’ Society held its first Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the 20th and 21st February 2025 at York Village, with the theme “The Role of Lawyers in Democratic Governance”

During the two-day AGM, the Society’s membership elected its inaugural executive members to steer the wheel of the organization’s leadership.
The executive members elected are as follows:
President: Augustine Sorie-Sengbe Marrah
Vice President: Wara Serry-Kamal
Secretary General: Margaret A.L. Davies
Asst. Secretary General: Edward Lassayo
PRO: Claude Bhamee Davies
Treasurer: Joy Bayoh
Organising Secretary: Charles Israel Williams
The newly elected president of the organization, Augustine Sorie-Sengbe Marrah, emphasizes his commitment to upholding the rule of law and defending democracy at all times.
He states, “I accepted the responsibility with courageous humility and pledged, with the collective resolve of the members to uphold the rule of law and defend our democracy, born out of the will of the people at all times. So help me God”
The organization’s leadership will engage and work collectively with its members to uphold the values of the legal profession. The Lawyers’ Society is dedicated to using a more radical approach to safeguarding the rule of law, promoting the administration of justice, and protection of human rights.
