Following the unfortunate death of journalist Samuel Mattia,former reporter of VOPAD Radio 96.5FM, the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ), an umbrella body of journalists who have following the case closely, has announced that the main suspect, the station manager of the aforementioned radio station, Joseph M. Lamin, has admitted to planning the killing of Mattia.

According to SLAJ, they were informed by the police that the station manager has admitted to orchestrating the murder by employing one Morlai and others to kill Mattia.

SLAJ furthered that the police also informed them  the suspected hired killers have been arrested and under custody for additional investigation.
