Newly elected President of Ghana John Dramani Mahama has appointed Actor, Farmer and Entrepreneur John Dumelo as Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture. 

His appointment was reportedly announced on Wednesday, February 5, by the acting spokesperson to the president, Felix Setor Dumelo.

Having a successful career in agriculture, Dumelo is expected to collaborate with the Minister of Food and Agriculture to develop and implement policies to boost the agriculture sector in Ghana.

Since entering politics in 2016, Dumelo has held a number of political positions, including the  current elected Member of Parliament for the Greater Accra Region’s Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.
