According to reports, the Head of Public Affairs for the West Africa Examinations Council, John Akpi, has announced the introduction of a new policy that will allow candidates to resit exams. He added that the initiative is called WASSCE PC1.
This method will result in substantial changes for students who fail one or two subjects and wish to retake them, rather than retaking at least five subjects and waiting for the following private WASSCE before being able to resit tests.
He further added that the other opportunities included in this initiative are the release of Chief Examiner’s reports that will provide detailed feedback on students lapses, and students whose results get cancelled will be eligible to partake in the resit exams.
However, he concludes that this opportunity only applies to candidates in the regional headquarters capitals for 2025 due to limited candidates.
