The First Lady, Her Excellency Fatima Maada Bio, makes a plea for the release of reality TV star Hawa Madiana Hunt, who has been in detention for almost  three months, facing legal charges.

Hunt was arrested on December 22, 2024, during a live broadcast of the House of Stars Season (2) reality TV show. She is facing charges for creating and disseminating insulting messages via a computer system or network under the Cyber Security and Crime Rate of 2021 Act No. 7 of 2021 against the President, H.E. Julius Maada Bio, and the First Lady, Fatima Madaa Bio.

Following her arrest, there have been speculations that the President and the First Lady are behind the prosecution of this case.

There’s also been a public debate about Hunt’s arrest. While some hold the view that she deserves to face the consequences of her actions, others believe that the prolonged detention without bail is an abuse of her fundamental human rights.

In her plea, the First Lady denies allegations that she is involved in the arrest of the reality TV, adding that she has no clue who is behind the prosecution of her case.

However, the First Lady shared her ordeal with Hawa Hunt, complaining that Hunt taunted her and her family between 2021 to  2024, resulting in blocking Hunt on various social media platforms.

The First Lady pleaded for Hunt’s release so she could be with her family again.
