Magistrate Santigie Bangura in Magistrate Court number 2, Holden in Freetown has denied Hawa Madiana Hunt bail and sent her back to the Female Correctional Center.
Hunt was arrested during the live broadcast of the popular House Stars reality TV show on December 22, 2024.
The police alleged that Hawa Hunt used invective words against the First Lady, Fatima Madaa Bio, and the President, Julius Maada Bio, through her social media platform.
Hawa Madiana Hunt Stands charged in court for creating and sharing insulting messages by means of a computer system or network contrary to Section 44 (2) (b) of the Cyber Security and Crime Rate 2021 Act No. 7 of 2021.
Yousif Isaac Sesay, Joan Bull, and other attorneys are representing the state, and lawyer Rashid Dumbuya and his team are representing Hawa Hunt in this case.
Magistrate Santigie Bangura denied the accused bail and sent her back to the female correctional centre and adjourned the case to January 15 this year.
