Pastor Francis A. M. Mambu, general overseer of Faith Healing Bible Church, speaks to the Ministry of Information and Civic Education, claiming to support the modifications to the Safe Motherhood and Reproductive Health Bill.

In his statement, the purpose of the January 2, 2025, meeting between the Religious Council representatives and the Sierra Leonean government was to request access to the amended bill so that they could carefully examine its contents before outlining the Religious Council’s overall stance. He explains that he just offered a vote of gratitude, appreciating the President for hearing their appeals.

He emphasises that he has not accepted the modification, as it is still under review by the religious council as received from the government.

The Safe Motherhood and Reproductive Rights Bill continues to spark public debate, particularly on the clauses that grant women the right to abortion.
